Did you know Aloe vera blooms?

October 2, 2020

Aloe vera is a succulent plant species of the genus Aloe.   It is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses. During this pandemic, we had one mother plant with 20 inch leaves [shown in image 3] and decided to separate and use to make Hand Sanitizer for the family. I also use for face moisturizer and works great. The plant continues to make babies and we had 15 small plants 10 inch leaves and 5 medium plants 15 inch leaves [shown in image 4]. They also bloom and are beautiful for weeks.

Hand Sanitizer is so simple, 1/3 cup Aloe vera and 2/3 cup rubbing alcohol and 3 drops of your favorite essential oil, I prefer Eucalyptus. Scrape the gel out with a spoon, blend in blender and strain so that it doesn’t clog the sprayer on the bottle.
