A heavy layer of mulch
After a few wheelbarrow trips of mulch, I was able to cover the ground around all the tomato plants. Next time I might have Baldwin EMC dump a load a bit closer…
I hope this will keep any trace of disease in the soil from touching their leaves. Hopefully we will not see any blight for a long time. As soon as I can, I need to hit them up with another dose of Alaska Fish Emulsion. Next up … Time to plant my chili pepper plants…

Buck-A-Roo

A very busy day
The last four days I put 40 tomato plants, a whole bunch of corn (phase 1) and some of my cukes into the ground. At this point in time.. I would like to remind everyone about using Sun Block. After this long gray winter.. I got my color back lickity split.
Bouncing on a hot patch of dirt in direct sun may be great for our veggies, but it is not good for me or you. I am prolly going to buy one of them straw hats very soon. Maybe a better way to protect my neck and ears from becoming red. oops.. too late …

Big mustards, onions and the first batch of silver queen
I was able to get some of our silver corn into the mix, friday.. but I ran into our mustard plants. I like the fact that they bring in bees.. and the seed pods are up and running — but they have to go soon. I need to fill the entire area up with corn. First I need to put my Jalapeños in the new area. I also put in 2 yellow summer crooknecks in the corner.
After much thought about cucumbers and pickles, I planted Ferry-Morse Cross Country Hybrids (for my Bread an Butters) and a bunch of Burpee Picklers for our dills. I somehow lost or misplaced the package of Straight 8 seeds.. I have no clue where they went.
