November, Greens and Bananas

November 4th, 2009

And in the blink of an eye, the end of Daylight Saving Time proceeds to the shorter days of fall. Today was a wonderful 75°. I love this crisp weather. hmmm, it looks like I best start thinking about cutting up fire wood for the winter.

Our Greens Garden

Our fall garden is taking off! One month later and the mustard and collard greens are ready to be mixed with ham hocks and onions. Yum! This past weekend, I had to construct a new fence to keep Buck out of the lettuce. Crazy Horse! I raised a new fence section up above the rabbit fence to keep him from poking his head inside. We shall see how well that works. Crossing my fingers.

This afternoon, Diane, Sybil and I, bounced to Shari and Jerry’s place (a bit south west from us) to help thin out some of their banana plants. A bit of shovel work, and we drove off with 15 young banana tree plants. Not sure where we are going to put them, but I will post pictures, very soon.
