Tiki: Mon Dec 8, 03 at 01:07:25 PM (EST) - SRF - We are #1

The glory returns to the Rose Bowl. Not a darn thing the BSC (yes I mean BSC) can do about it. If we beat Michigan we win the AP Championship!

I feel sorry for LSU... There will be an asterisc next to their so called #1... That is if they win! Oklahoma will not be a push-over.

Fight On!

SRF: Mon Dec 8, 03 at 12:31:48 PM (EST) - We are robbed!!

SC fans take solace in the fact that if your team beats Michigan in the Rose Bowl, you can still be voted #1 in at one poll!! I smell a split National Championship!! Go Trojans!

Tiki: Sun Dec 7, 03 at 02:08:19 AM (EST) - We are SC!

I wonder, wonder, wonder who... who will be number 1 in the polls on Sunday.

Fight On!

Tiki: Sat Dec 6, 03 at 01:17:42 AM (EST) - Dr. Larry

Amazing.. Do I have your recent snail mail addy?

Dr. Larry: Sat Dec 6, 03 at 01:08:05 AM (EST) - the line

Wasn't that iMovie cool?? It reminded me of that recent art flick "Russian Ark" where it was one single camera with one long hour and a half shot going through a mansion.

Tiki: Fri Dec 5, 03 at 08:18:26 PM (EST) - Dr. Larry Singer

I know... I can not believe Yuko's parents stood in that line for me... The box it came in is so kewl...

(not a tube like the USA T's)

Dr. Larry Singer: Fri Dec 5, 03 at 08:13:06 PM (EST) - Ginza

TIKI: You may know you're lucky...but you may not know JUST how lucky you are. Check out this cool iMovie of THE line to get in: Ginza line

Tiki: Fri Dec 5, 03 at 07:12:20 PM (EST) - Very BIG Smile

Guess who just received a Ginza Apple Store "Grand Opening" T-Shirt?

Tiki: Thu Dec 4, 03 at 11:11:34 PM (EST) - Yes that means...

The printed versions can not be fixed...

Hahahaha.. That is not until next year...

Tiki: Thu Dec 4, 03 at 11:07:37 PM (EST) - That Right!!!

You have to request a fix from each one... They only add new content from the DB... Yes I will have that drink now...

Tiki: Thu Dec 4, 03 at 11:06:04 PM (EST) - ACK

What a fun filled day today was!

Someone in Yellow Book Land dropped the "n" in Graphic Penguin.

We are listed as Graphic Peguin.

Hahaha... shoot me now. So if you need a graphic designer in San Pedro, call those Peguin folks...

Mrs Dr. (aka tea): Wed Dec 3, 03 at 01:13:36 AM (EST) - What the heck...

I'll go to Tokyo Japan. Can we just not plan to go in the summer? I hear it's hotter than hell in the summer. I prefer spring or early fall.

KD: Tue Dec 2, 03 at 10:36:16 PM (EST) - Well ...

Basically been gone and busy a lot. I did score a weekly shift on a local station, but I'm too busy to do both that and production work, so I'm not renewing though I will be subbing.

Work takes me to to bay area often, and although I've been able to visit Ameoba a couple of times, working until 11 or 1 kinda limits the field trips.

KD: Tue Dec 2, 03 at 01:36:54 AM (EST) - Poking my head up

Tiki: Sun Nov 30, 03 at 10:24:23 PM (EST) - Dr. Larry

Wow...well the way they latch on to fads overseas, Apple's certain to gain that ever iomportant international market share.

Tiki: Sat Nov 29, 03 at 09:25:59 PM (EST) - Dr. Larry

Kewl stuff... but not a Ginza T

Teeheehee, Yuko (my top notch right-hand) is visiting her family over the holidays... If there is an extra Ginza T-shirt to be found, she will find me one!

Dr. Larry Singer: Fri Nov 28, 03 at 03:39:20 AM (EST) - Did I hear Apple Collectibles?

Tiki: Thu Nov 27, 03 at 02:34:55 PM (EST) - Happy Thanksgiving

Hoping you and yours have a wonderful day!

SRF: Wed Nov 26, 03 at 12:35:42 PM (EST) - Happy Thanksgiving

In addition to all the things we're all Thankful for, I wanted to share with you the following. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!!!

Author Unknown--

BE THANKFUL:
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to? Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn. Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow. Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement. Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character. Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons. Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference. It's easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks. Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings. ~ Author unknown

Judi: Mon Nov 24, 03 at 09:45:45 AM (EST) - more

and it has been running the old fashioned way for 30 years!

Judi: Mon Nov 24, 03 at 09:42:50 AM (EST) - Uncle Henry's

Jon, yes EBay is the mother of all swap sites but Maine has good old Uncle Henry. I'll post links so you can read all about it yourself but it is basically a Maine classic swap book. Printed on newsprint weekly, in stores Thursday, the calls start by noon on Thursday and the good stuff is gone Friday evening. You can place an ad for free, however the form to submit the ad is in the magazine itself so you sort of have to buy one for that form. Yes they have web submissions too but you have to pay for that. It is locals swappin' local stuff, my father in law sold musical instruments this month via Uncle Henry. The buyer reads your ad, calls you on the phone, arranges a time and place to meet you and the next day you drive to the halfway point and make the exchange in the parking lot of Reny's. Then you come home and get calls from stragglers who didn't get their copy at Shop 'N Save until Friday morning and already are too late for the good stuff. Lots of free stuff too. Read all about it here. The Uncle Henry's story and more at this section of their web site.

Tiki: Sun Nov 23, 03 at 11:44:23 PM (EST) - Poogie

Sounds like your Mom is very lucky to have a very smart daughter! ;)

Poogie: Sun Nov 23, 03 at 11:10:47 PM (EST) - Tiki

Speaking of Apple computers, my Mom has joined the ranks. She has a Compaq internet appliance that has served her well, but alas, it is outdated. Compaq informed her that they would phasing out the updates, since the hardware is becoming obsolete. They gave her the option of WebTV. I talked her into an iBook. I ordered it for her today. It's a 12" refurb from the Apple Store, with a full warranty. She's glad she won't have to use MSM anymore (gonna put her on earthlink)! Will be setting it up for her when I go home for Christmas. Now she can play Solitaire to her heart's content.

Tiki: Sun Nov 23, 03 at 10:20:48 PM (EST) - Judi.. and vintage computers Part One

collection of old computers is actually worth something Well... maybe and maybe not.

eBay is now the "blue book" of collecting.

It may sound krazy, but unless your Mac+ is next to mint (it helps to have the original box) it is prolly worth only $20.00 USA or less. My Mac+ is still very kewl (I could never part with it) and I understand it is not worth much on the open market. So be it.. It is mine!

Could you post the UncleHenry link?

LOL, bottom line is that I love to get Apple goodies at the best price I can... Sometimes I do, sometimes I go Grrrr and pay what the market demands...

Tiki: Sun Nov 23, 03 at 07:29:11 PM (EST) - poogie

Yes, it was a wonderful day!

Though I am very sad that not that many UCLA fans were able to see the game in person. There was quite a bunch of them before the game in the stands... I am sure I saw them... but after the 2nd quarter (add a pause for effect) THEY were gone!!! I sure hope they are still OK... It was like aliens (or something) took them away.... teehee

Poogie: Sun Nov 23, 03 at 03:29:52 AM (EST) - Tiki

I knew you'd be a happy camper. LOL. :-)

akageorge: Sun Nov 23, 03 at 01:24:16 AM (EST) - Thomas

Did you go to hear Walter at the Galaxy, or are you holding out for Perq's in January?

I went out last night for a long evening of loud bar music, starring my friend Carrianne. Now that bars in NY are smoke-free, I can do this sort of thing. Sort of. Twice a year, maybe.

I have the worst sore throat now, from having to make myself heard over the music, and my hearing is kind of fuzzy -- I forgot my earplugs ... but I had a lovely non-vodka Mudslide and a Malibu Bay Breeze, and lots of fun.

Tiki: Sat Nov 22, 03 at 09:25:59 PM (EST) -

We are SC!

Thomas More: Fri Nov 21, 03 at 08:28:06 PM (EST) - Hi Judi!
rdamor@pacbell.net

You mean I'm not the only one with two TI-99s in the garage? I sold my Commodores at the TRW swap meet several years ago, along with a lot of amateur radio gear that I seldom used, but for some reason I've hung onto the TI-99s, one of which has the $400 expansion box with two Teac floppy drives (They cost about $200 each, and that was real money in 1979).

I just checked eBay, and there are several TI-99s listed, from $10 to $50 ("Buy It Now" for $75). One lot of 32 games for the TI is bid up to $184, with one day yet to go.

Hmmm; Maybe I better list some of my games for TI-99. I have a shelf full, and the box contains expanded memory, voice synthesizer, etc. I got pretty damn good at "Lunar Lander."

My current project is designing a center speaker for my surround-sound setup. Even the expensive ones on the market today appear to be really cheap junk made in Malaysia. So I found some vintage JBL professional speaker components on eBay, like you would find in a recording studio even today. Now I have to build a box out of Cherry wood to match my entertainment center.

For the technically inclined, the box will have one JBL D-123 12-inch woofer and a JBL LE-175DLH horn/driver, crossed over at 1200 Hz. It should sound heavenly.

Judi: Fri Nov 21, 03 at 09:16:34 AM (EST) - vintage

You mean that the collection of old computers I am storing in the garage attic is actually worth something? The only computer I ever sold was the ADAM by Coleco. I still have 1 of the 2 TI994A's here and the Mac's from the little Mac Plus on through 2GS, 2Si, 8100AV model, several PC's that I never did allow IN THE HOUSE, they were sent to the attic the day they arrived and my 2 present machines the G4 and the iBook. I have so much software and books and magazines about computers it is embarasing. However I feel the same about computers as I do about books. Good friends that I can't seem to part with. Darn computers take up shelf fulls of room however. I am ready to break the bonds and send them to good homes. I don't EBay, guess I'll try UncleHenry. That is the EBay of Maine.

Tiki: Fri Nov 21, 03 at 01:11:32 AM (EST) - Yowzer! Road trip?

Thomas More: Thu Nov 20, 03 at 08:37:03 PM (EST) - Walter Trout!

Walter's working so much these days, we hardly see him in So Cal, in spite of the fact that he lives in Huntington Beach.

However; he will be performing, with The Radicals, THIS SATURDAY NIGHT (Nov 22), at The Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana.

On Saturday, December 13, they will perform at The Blue Cafe in Long Beach,

and, finally, on January 9 and 10, 2004, Walter will be playing at Perq's in Huntington Beach.

The latter will be old home week for local fans of Walter Trout. As they say when Walter plays at Perq's, "it'll be wall-to-Walter."

Thomas More: Thu Nov 20, 03 at 08:26:32 PM (EST) - First word on the walls of white!

I'm first, I'm first, I'm first again...

Now, what should I say ???
