I'll try to reach you Wednesday or Thursday -- can you email me the # ? I checked out IArchives -- way cool. Watched a film with Playmobil characters in stop-motion animation -- too funny.

Tiki: Sun Oct 3, 04 at 11:12:36 PM (EDT) - akageorge

Give me a call at the office... I stopped promoting gigs a few years ago... But I might be able to have a few leads for Gregory Douglass.

akageorge: Sun Oct 3, 04 at 11:00:11 PM (EDT) - oops -- that was me

Sorry -- didn't mean to be anonymous. At work and in a hurry.

Anybody wanna host a folkie?

A Burlington, VT, artist name of Gregory Douglass will be on the West Coast the week of November 3 - 8 (within the San Diego - San Francisco area) and is looking for house concert venues. Anyone interested see:

gregory@gregorydouglass.com

(be sure to speel it rite -- there is another similar name, not the same guy at all)

I've heard him open for Vance Gilbert and he is good.

Tiki: Thu Sep 30, 04 at 10:20:30 PM (EDT) - hey neen

Ummm, no I was not aware of Mr. Muni.. Thoughts and prayers for the Muni family. Thanks for the warm thoughts on our new place...

So, Has anyone out there, visited Internet Archive ???? Yowzer the Dead stuff is amazing. As my live tapes (all analoug - tons of hours - and a ton of them are masters) prolly are degrading, guess it is time to digitalize the bunch. At last, a place to put them... for everyone. First thing needed is to get the meat puppets permission.

So while I wait, I plan on putting up a couple of hundred fIREHOSE shows...And believe it or not... I taped quite a few Dead shows... A few were pretty good (in my HO).

Well, I guess it would happen one day (and if anyone wants to buy it for me, that would be swell, I would even name a hard drive after you, if you were to buy it for me) but I thought it would happen when I had a ton 'o cash... either way, an Apple 1 has been put up on eBay... and at a durn good price...

Apple 1 images on the net from the seller. Easy to find on eBay.

neen: Wed Sep 29, 04 at 05:23:39 PM (EDT) - RIP Scott Muni

A great DJ - don't know if anybody there knows of him. 104.3 (nyc classic rock) played mostly Beatles today in remembrance..

Congrats to Tiki & D.Tiki (just an intital, for privacy) on the fresh new place - .. am glad for you that the house was spared the worst of the season

Nice to pop in & see everyone here.. Sorry to hear about good 'ol Hawk.. If there is justice in the universe, he's chasing rabbits in bright green fields.

akageorge: Fri Sep 24, 04 at 10:26:02 PM (EDT) - Smile

Good advice, yeah, but has anybody heard the album yet?

Tiki: Thu Sep 23, 04 at 09:54:37 PM (EDT) - While I am at it...

RIP Johnny Ramone. You will be missed!

Tiki: Thu Sep 23, 04 at 09:53:44 PM (EDT) - KD

ooops... long week...

My in-laws returned last Friday - All is well. A few trees down.

KD: Wed Sep 22, 04 at 02:23:28 AM (EDT) - Ivan

Any news?

I find it odd that the remains of Ivan circled back down the Atlantic and crossed FL, like it missed it the first time.

Tiki: Fri Sep 17, 04 at 01:36:40 PM (EDT) - KD

Well, our new house is in Loxley, 30 minutes from Gulf Shores, where Ivan hit landfall. With what we can tell is as it moved toward our house it lost a bit of it's bang.

But at this moment we have no clue to how our house fared. My in-laws evacuated, who live near by. So we wait.... When they get back they are going to take a look...

KD: Thu Sep 16, 04 at 07:03:54 PM (EDT) - Ivan

Is everything ok?

KD: Wed Sep 15, 04 at 01:15:16 AM (EDT) - YIKES!

That's right! I'll cross my fingers too.

Is this a permanent move?

Tiki: Tue Sep 14, 04 at 09:18:22 PM (EDT) - KD

We are starting to freak out here... My In-laws who live right next to the place we just bought, have bailed... No one is there to board up the windows of our new happy home. :(

This is not good. Crossing fingers...

KD: Tue Sep 14, 04 at 06:27:44 PM (EDT) - 'bama

Tiki: Fri Sep 10, 04 at 03:05:14 PM (EDT) - Thanks!!!

A cat fish pond...

tea (aka Mrs. Dr.): Thu Sep 9, 04 at 01:03:52 PM (EDT) - Tiki & Mrs. Tiki

It looks beautiful, and like a great place to put up acouple of hanging swings for sunsets and cups of tea. However, I will have to insist on a wheelchair ramp since Dr. Singer and I will be coming to visit! He just doesn't do stairs! Really beautiful,

akageorge: Thu Sep 9, 04 at 03:37:43 AM (EDT) - Tiki

How cute! (I'm assuming that's a pond, not just leftovers from the hurricanes.) Congratulations!

akageorge: Thu Aug 19, 04 at 02:36:51 AM (EDT) - goodbye, hawk ... hello, room

Hey, all. Just checked the archives, and am a bit teary-eyed. Then I saw the post from neen with her baby, and brightened up a bit.

Just wanted to say hi from work -- modem has been down at home -- having a good summer, despite what they say is coldest and rainiest weather in a while ... I've been out in the garden a lot, had a great time at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in July, and have some more vacation time coming up.

Good to see ya, BlueRose! and all the rest of you too. I miss you guys. Come see me. The black flies are all gone, deerflies aren't too bad right now, and next week is the county fair.

RTE: Wed Aug 18, 04 at 06:11:31 PM (EDT) - Good Old Hawk & Shameless Plugs

Hi guys. Just read the recent archives and noted the passing of Hawk Singer....one of the only dogs, (of the four-legged variety), that ever attended one of my gigs. Rest in peace buddy.

As for everybody else, here's hoping things are going well. For anybody interested, I've been working regularly doing the solo/duo thing at various locales and even secured a position in the new Bill Medley "Unplugged" band. Kinda cool singing with a Hall of Famer.

I'm doing a Thursday night gig with Jamie Browning in downtown San Clemente at Gordon James Grill. GREAT food, (perhaps a bit pricey for registered Democrats, but the Repubs out there should find NO problem parting with those massive George W. Bush tax cuts).

I'd love to commune with you all again. Really.

My schedule can be found at www.scottsechman.com

Judi: Sat Aug 14, 04 at 08:51:47 AM (EDT) - speaking of BlueRoses

Roses are red, violets are blue.
But what if roses were blue?
Florists might stand to make a lot of green.
Modern biochemists and geneticists are now closing in on a prize that has obsessed rose lovers for centuries ˜ the creation of the true blue rose.
The flower does not exist in nature, and despite centuries of effort, no breeder has managed to even come close. They have called many roses blue ˜ Blue Girl, Bleu Magenta, Blue Moon.
They're purple.
The only way to create the elusive and unnatural color blue is by manipulating the genetic code of the rose, and millions of dollars are being spent on the effort by genetic engineering companies.
The prize is a hefty piece of the $25-billion global cut flower market, which hasn't seen a major twist in roses since the introduction of yellow around the turn of the 20th century.
But beyond the monetary prospects, flower lovers are already fantasizing about what new emotional dimensions blue would bring to the rose.
"You think of blue as the ocean and sky, which are very powerful elements," said Amulka Kitamura, a designer at the Flower Box in Santa Monica. "I think it would be stunning."
To conjure the elusive color, scientists have plucked genes from blue petunias, fiddled with indigo-producing enzymes from the human liver and delved into the mystery of King George III's occasionally blue urine.
So far, they've made some really nice purples.
elusive- that sort of summs up our own BlueRose, very rare

Tiki: Sat Aug 14, 04 at 01:41:01 AM (EDT) - Sooooo....

Like my little “post button” javascript doo-hickie?

Tiki: Sat Aug 14, 04 at 01:29:50 AM (EDT) - Hey BlueRose

Long time no see... How are things?

Hanging out in the corner. My guess is everyone is enjoying the Summer. More or less Tumblin' Tumble Weeds these days.

So whats up? ...

Robert aka BlueRose: Thu Aug 12, 04 at 04:32:43 PM (EDT) - Long time eh?

I was out and about last night -- saw Natalie Merchant at the John Anson Ford theater - and her banjo player reminded me a LOT of RTE -- and I got to thinking about my old friends and about my self-imposed exile and a lot of other space-taking crap in my brain and I thought I would come in and peek around a bit and see if anyone remembers me...

Is SUZ still around? NANCY? RTE? THOMAS MORE? Im gonna go look at the archives -- see whats up if anything... :-p

Tiki: Mon Aug 9, 04 at 10:42:50 PM (EDT) - odds n’ ends speil

Howzit Everyone!

Sorry that I have been missing in action... Very long story...

Anywho... Yowzer! The World is once again right... There is live football on my TV. In 19 days SC will start defending their National Championship. One can hope that Auburn might pull it’s head out of the sand this year...

You would think that one could pick up a broken (Non-working) 5GB iPod on eBay for loose change... Who would have thought that there are folks out there who will plunk down 60 bucks USA for a broken widgit... Krazy

Well my peppers are going off. Must be the dry heat... ;)

Zoetrope: Sun Aug 1, 04 at 06:26:16 AM (EDT) - Hawk Singer
