Howzit !!!!
neen: Wed Jun 2, 04 at 07:59:06 PM (EDT) - memorial day
Howzit!!!
I hope your weekends were as good as ours here -- we had a lovely memorial day in small-town rural VT -- lovely parades, (from Saturday to Monday) -- excellent fireworks display (that was Saturday nite) -- thanks for the Washington pix, Judy -- but WTF is up in DC with the cutting the budget for Veterans' Benefits and closing VA's ??
np: pepe deluxe - lying peacefully
Tiki: Sat May 29, 04 at 05:37:15 PM (EDT) - Judi
Very cool!
Judi: Fri May 28, 04 at 06:21:46 PM (EDT) - WWII memorial in DC
I visited DC just before they opened the new memorial to the public but I have some photos to share through the fence. Now to see if I remember how to link without waking the pooch.

Tiki: Thu May 27, 04 at 09:34:26 PM (EDT) - ACM Awards
Anyone out there catch the Loretta Lynn and Vince Gill performance
last night? Yowzer!
As a whole I tend to skip music awards shows, I tend to pinch my nose
when it comes to country music awards. Nashvile (vile) in 2004, is not
the C&W I grew up with.
Loretta and Vince were wonderful, Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss almost
made me cry. Well done. Just my 2 cents... keep Reba McEntire as your host
next year. It was a hoot. I just wish you folks would get over your
love for these sugar coated, slicked-polished idgits. That aint
country. Whooo-Hooo Toby Keith!
Poogie: Thu May 27, 04 at 12:28:18 AM (EDT) - I'm bouncing . . .
. . . I'm bouncing! ;-)
Tiki: Wed May 26, 04 at 11:09:01 PM (EDT) - Howzit everyone!
SRF - Sorry... I was just letting the folks out there understand that they can lurk as well as post with out GP (me) seeing that SRF bounced in (via your IP) and why in the heck did he not post.
My logs show this (well they show that folks bounce in - and we could match a log entry to the time that you posted) I just want to make clear that we do NOT DO THIS!
So all of you lurkers.. Bounce on in...
SRF: Wed May 26, 04 at 06:51:58 PM (EDT) - Word
Hi!!! Aka looks like you just posted :>)
Tiki is an interesting read, when he gets technical I am severely lost, but this site is very much appreciated and I agree with Judi, I check in here just about every day at the office but I don't always have something to say.
neen: Air America is getting ratings on WLIB 1190 (NYC) but is blacked out in LA.
np: on RadioParadise.com-- (I kid you not)- I've Got You Under My Skin-the Ella Fitzgerald version
ciao!
akageorge: Wed May 26, 04 at 06:43:09 PM (EDT) - Yo, 'sup?
(trying to be one of those cool computer board dudes)
Wow -- Lake Champlain! I'm not a boat person so I'm not sure of the location, but I'm glad to see the business go to someone other than the one guy around here who seems to do EVERYONE's website. I'm sure it will be a humdingerwhen you get done with it.
I'm logging on at 12.0 kbps. Just like the old days. Glad to be on at all; recent storms cut our phone service, out from Sunday night to Wednesday afternoon, then my modem was screwing up the line. Reinstalled the driver and it's at least connecting ... we'll see.
TikBud, thank you for keeping this board even for the few and far between. It's my link to a world that seems far away and long ago.
neen: Wed May 26, 04 at 11:35:29 AM (EDT) - didn't get the initials reference until now!
np - air america radio, my new addiction
neen: Wed May 26, 04 at 11:27:57 AM (EDT) - HoWZiT
how - zit
going?
all is well here -- we're taking a trip to the northeast for the weekend and biking and hanging out with our organic-farming friends. And we'll be visiting the vets' cemetery, too...
i hope all of you enjoy Memorial Day, and remember its other purpose (no, not the 3rd tanning day thing - the Memorial thing) -- have a good one!
Judi: Wed May 26, 04 at 09:53:10 AM (EDT) - reminds me of another site I visit
At that site there is the catapult where if you viewed you must post something, anything even just a hi. So hi, I check here daily but if I haven't seen anything new posted I am reluctant to post. I'm taking care of a sick husband. Realy sick, so sick I had to drive him to the emergency room Monday night. he is on morphene, oxycontin, valium and other pain medication. I have to take him to a specialist on Friday. I won't go into detail on his condition but imagine a porcupine crawling up inside you, doing a few summersaults and then clawing his way out. Parts of you would get cut mighty bad and hurt like hell. Needless to say he is no longr on the Atkins diet and will no longer be eating a 90% cheese diet. But he lost 30 lbs! School ends June 18th here. He might use more of his 150 sick days and not show up the remainder of this year.
Tiki: Tue May 25, 04 at 10:57:47 PM (EDT) - Howzit
Sorry for not posting sooner.
I left town Thursday morning for a little R&R and on my return, Monday, I had to attend a 2
day training seminar in Culver City. The food was Yummy!
Anywho...
After a bit of thought... , thanks neen, spring is in the air,
ladeedadedah.. LOL, I agree there should not be a rush to end
this board. I will not.
But I must point out... Once a month I bounce into my logs. I want everyone, yes you lurkers as well, to understand this. I am not tracking the BBS users (I do not keep copies of your IPs), I am tracking to see if my new pages (ie. the new japanese site) are receiving hits.I do this on the 1st or 2nd day of the new month. After I print my stats (again no IP info) I dump the last months logs.Everything. Pull the plunger and down you go...
Guess what the number one page that my visitors go to? This page. Number 2 would be the archives index page. I have no problem with this. But...
I am sure I am part of the problem. I bounce in and take a look-see and bounce off to my eBay. I am not saying that this is wrong... There are days I have not much to say. In fact there are days that I am just anti-social. Maybe this is your thinking.
I want an active board. So how about every time we bounce in with nothing to say, we de-lurk and just say howzit! or maybe we just post a np:
It could not hurt. Howzit YellowRoom Folks!
SRF: Mon May 24, 04 at 04:06:16 PM (EDT) - kyle
Indigo Eyes!!! Great song, rarely gets played--I missed it, but it was probably Peter Murphy. I remember the old KMPC-FM 101.9 FM (JJ Jackson & Co) played this song a lot back in 1988.
Yes I also hope the board stays active!
Dr Larry--- what's the Angels special ticket deal?? In January I became a season seat ticket member in Upper View behind home plate $12 seats at the box office, but since I bought 4 seats, two are at no charge making my cost $6/ticket. Ya can't beat that deal! Of course I can't go to all the games, but I've sold off much of what I can't go to. Cheers!
kyle: Fri May 21, 04 at 05:23:39 PM (EDT) - howdy all
been aways for a while...hope the board stays up...SRF- just heard a song on 103.1 at approx 2:15 p.m.- something about indigo eyes, i've heard this guy's voice before... any clues as to who this was??
Judi: Fri May 21, 04 at 09:30:48 AM (EDT) - albatross overload
The penguins are off on another adventure! Wheee!
Penguin fun, no bloodshed
Fly low for the best scores
Dr. Larry Singer: Tue May 18, 04 at 01:27:07 AM (EDT) - Rollins Radio
103.1 gets better and better.Toight, they had the
first installment of Henry Rolins' show and it
was AWESOME. He'll be gone for 2 weeks, in Iraq,
then he's back on the air. Jonesy, Camp Freddy,

Dr. Larry Singer: Tue May 18, 04 at 01:24:58 AM (EDT) - Angels
SRF: Hey...if you ever wanna go see some games,

neen: Mon May 17, 04 at 06:52:02 AM (EDT) -
i hope that i didn't offend anyone -- i'm so *lite-weight* here and don't have many interesting insights into life -- or get to see much live music or anything ..
i hope you leave it up -
everyone's just out enjoying the spring here
Tiki: Sun May 16, 04 at 09:04:39 PM (EDT) - And it looks like the old man is getting old.
Well it looks like we had a nice run.
I for one did not expect one of you to come to this board (when I put it up) and post. I was mistaken. Thank you.
Maybe I am at fault here. But I felt it was better to hang on the outside (some of you might understand) and let you use this board. Looks like I was wrong. I tried. I failed.
I understand that over the years, we have found new boards. Look at me, I hang out at eBay and MacGurus. I will not shut this board down, guess it will become a BLOG. A BLOG that everyone can chip their 2 cents in. Tommorow... The Gratful Dead. My first thoughts.
Tiki: Wed May 12, 04 at 09:39:59 PM (EDT) - Hey akageorge!
Guess who just got a gig re-designing Snug Harbor Marinas web site? That would be the marina on Lake Champlain. Sounds like it is a stones throw from Lake George...
Hmmmm,
Tiki: Wed May 12, 04 at 09:26:10 PM (EDT) - Jonesy~s Lunch-box
Is now 2 hours a day! (5 days a week!) Lets give a cheer for 3 hours more!
Whoya!
Maybe it was just me, but Jones would be getting into a grouve right at 12:45 and zrrrrpppp he had to pull the plug. Looks like this is going in the right direction. LOL... I would have missed this treat if not for Dan Patrick going on and on... ;)
neen: Mon May 10, 04 at 11:04:57 AM (EDT) - oh totally
i remember Stefan Daystrom -- a reliably accurrate and well-spoken poster.. i wish him well. I also remember David at USC, although less well, I must admit.
tiki nice job on the japanese site -- i especially like the green thing going on
my first mothers day was .. ok - nothing special, except in that all days with my new family are special. SRF - condolences & may the sadness pass quickly.
and now, a lovely draught of fresh swiffer juice. mmmmmmm-boy
Tiki: Sat May 8, 04 at 12:08:16 AM (EDT) - A very busy week - Oh my...
As I post, I am pleased as heck to share with you our new japanese Graphic Penguin website.. Major thanks go out to Yuko and Yukari!
note: most of you will only see ????, but it is there. Trust us ;)
I am also in the middle of putting up my last project, the Tiki Beast 9650/G3 500.
Whooo Hoooo SRF!
I agree, our Angels are looking mighty good!
SRF: Fri May 7, 04 at 05:23:06 PM (EDT) - alright already!!
So I was the last poster in April and I guess I'll be the first in May!!
OK Indie 103.1 still sounds kewl!!
LET'S GO ANGELS !!!!!!!!!!!!! They haven't lost yet in the month of May ... 6 in a row and counting ... I was at the Big A on Tuesday night and will be going tomorrow night (Sat) hoping to witness the Angels' 8th straight victory !!
Misc. Part I --- Anyone remember the Yellow Room poster known as "David at USC"??? I have been keeping in touch with David, we've had lunch a few times together, he's a big Angels' fan as well. He's a regular visitor and sometime poster to all the radio-related boards. He and I might catch a game or two at Angel Stadium.
Misc. Part II --- Remember Stefan Daystrom ??? I sometimes have seen Stafan's quotes about radio stuff on Don Barrett's LARadio.com website. Stefan was and I guess still is a regular poster on another website called Airchex. I haven't checked it out in a long time though!!
Misc. Part III --- Had lunch today at the Renaissance Bistro (formerly known as the Ren. Cafe) in Brea on Birch Street just west of the 57 freeway. When my check was presented, with it was an insert flyer mentioning to celebrate Mother's Day with them (brunch) and also mentioned was "Live Music Featuring Scott Sechman 11am-2pm". Anyone ever heard of this guy?? :>)
call 714-256-2233 for reservations.
to all the Moms out there --- HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY (I will miss my mom as she passed away on April 9th)
Ciao!!
